I'm one of these 30 somethings that has always wanted to try bull
riding, but never done. I've had a lot of experience with horse riding
(Western and English), and I'm going to Shankey's riding school soon.

I've spent a lot of time researching this and trying to get ready, but
any comments to help me be prepared would be helpful. (What I can
expect to hurt-- What's normal. Boot recommendations, etc.) I've
heard so many comments from friends and on the 'net about past
experiences, but I like to be well prepared to get the most for the
time while I'm at the school.

Thanks!

Get into good physical shape. Hope you're not real big. Make sure
your arm strength is good. Exercise your lower body for movement -
roll your ankles, hips, etc. Practice balancing exercises.

It's Sankey - not Shankey.
