If you're old enough, you may remember when saddle bronc was 10
seconds and bull riding was 8 seconds.

CRAFT has got me! I don't remember which came first, the 1 to 25 point
judging system for stock and rider or riding broncs eight instead of ten
seconds. I was there.

That's something I've been wondering for ages too. Make link makes good
sense. I've also always wondered how long a bull could buck for? I
know that is Spain or Mexico they try to ride them until they stop
bucking. I'd imagine that could take some time!

Keep in mind that some rodeo stock do a great job of spinning around,
so it'd be next to impossible to use distance as a measure, especially
bulls. There are a few bucking horses I've been on that spun me good.
In bareback, that can be hell on your wrist and shoulder, and in bulls
- the "well" is a place you don't wanna go. Some of the best broncs
I've dealt with in the past covered a small area and bucked good, but
as any rodeo, to get a good un', it's often the luck of the draw.

I've just resubscribed to this group.

I was referring to 90 feet in baseball, 100 yards in football, and 8
seconds in Rodeo, not suggesting that we use distance as a measure in
rodeo -- except for the sheep toss.

ROTFL!! I needed that good laugh this morning.
At least for now, I'll save suggestions for tossing of certain
anti-rodeo morons for alt.tasteless
